Unified messaging not configuring

Hi,

 unified messaging is installed & integrated.  We are trying to setup a auto attendant, this sort of works... if the number is dialled, the automated message kicks in, which is ok.. but it is set, so that if the caller presses the "5"  it should bypass the message & go direct to  the extension.   What happens when caller presses 5, is nothing,  call  is not transferred to extension, ust a unrecognised keypress message.

There doesn't seem to be any related errors in the exchange/lync/um/edge server logs.

suggestions as to What else should I look at/check/try?
