Hi - Hoping someone can help me.
I've got 2x 2012 dhcp servers (DHCP1 / DHCP2 )setup in a failover cluster with NPS installed. NPS is configured to forward requests to 3rd server for policy evaluation (NAP)
This is all working as expected after some minor troubleshooting, The idea behind this is to have NPS verify the computer is on the domain before giving it a DHCP lease.
My problem is i have one scope with several clients current with NAP set to on. These clients are checking in with the NAP server as expected however the times seem to vary greatly. I have 1 client (windows 7) that checks in every 10 minutes, another that checks in every few hours etc. and another that has only checked in once today.
The one checking in every 10 minutes is giving event ids 6272 and 6278 so it appears everything is working as expected its just checking in far to often. How can i change this or troubleshoot this? If we deploy this everywhere i'm assuming this vm wont react well to thousands of clients checking in (plus the log will be unreadable) every 10 minutes.
Was hoping it would only do its checks during DHCP lease time
Any ideas?
