I recently ran into the issue that my SBS 2008 stops letting remote users dial in via PPTP some hours after a reboot. It worked perfectly fine for years before that. I found KB 888090 which describes the issue perfectly:- If you try to reconnect the VPN connection, the VPN connection remains in the connecting state.
- If you try to restart the Routing and Remote Access service, you may receive the following error message:"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."
However, KB 888090 is for Server 2003. Is there a version of this KB article/ fix for SBS 2008? The same question came up in this thread (1), but I'm not sure about "ls01c" recommendation. Any ideas or thoughts on this?
