May I ask for some advice on a good remote access solution in my environment. The environment is made up of:
1. W2012 DataCenter Hyper-V vm Server located in a remote CoLo site . I have loaded AD on the server. The network will have about 20 users.
2. The CoLo site has a good firewall
3. The W2012 box only has one NIC at this time
4. The traveling users have W7 Professional laptops.
5. The Central Office is connected to the CoLo via a nailed up VPN Tunnel.
6. The Central Office has a good firewall.
The goal is to give the traveling users a single location to drop their files and provide the Central office access to those files.
When I say "good firewall" , I mean the firewall has its own offering of IPSec and SSL VPN options. I want to investigate the MS remote access solutions first.
There are some restrictions, cost and my technical ability on the W2012 OS. Is there such a thing as "simple and secure"? We do not house any real sensitive data.
What would be your solution suggestions?
DirectAccess ( I think this is out because of W7 Pro Clients)?
RRAS with what type of security (SSTP, L2TP, PPTP)?
Firewall Vendor solution?
