DDNS Issue

Hello

We just recently switched from a 2003 DHCP Server to Server 2012 DHCP.  Our envionrment consists of 1 brand new server running DHCP which has about 450 scopes and 15000 active leases during the day. We also have 6 Windows 2008 R2 Domain controllers that handle our DNS. NOTE: a lot of our scopes have VERY VERY short lease times - some 30 minutes

What we are seeing when we have a lot of activity onsite is our DNS records not updating and the DHCP logs polluted with the following: DNS update request failed as the DNS update requests queue limit exceeded

During slower times of the day (like before 9am and after 10pm) we see this message less frequently and things seem to update more frequently.

I looked through the DHCP logs from our old 2003 dhcp server and we don't have any of these errors - this is something that we are seeing new with our 2012 server. I have read for 2003/2008 that there is a DynamicDNSQueueLength registry setting you can put in that might help with this, but I am not sure if it will work with Server 2012 or if that is a fix to this problem.

What I am not sure is where the issue actually lies. Is this a limit at the dhcp server, are the DNS servers not keeping up with the updating? Just not sure where to point the finger yet.

Any help would be great

Thanks

Mike
