Dns Server private virtual network

Hi Guys,

Here’s a good one for you:

I have a lab machine on a corporate network. In a workgroup not on a domain.

The idea is to install a bunch of vms connected by a virtual network that will use a nat to go out on the internet through my physical machine. THe nat server wil be a vm inside the virtual network. I need one of the machines to be a dc as well as dns roles. It will host a domain. I need that domain to be resolved from the internet.

The problem is that I do not have access to the corporate dns servers and I do not want them to know that there is another dns server in my private network. I also do not want to ruin the network with my servers. I don’t want anything bad to happen to the corporate network because of me.

I figured out how to forward the request to my virtual dns server if it reaches my physical machine but I do not know how to make it reach the physical machine.

Is there some record that I can add in my virtual dns and replicate over the internet, that can forward the requests to my machine but without disturbing anything in the corporate network? Please note that the physical machine has a dynamic ip.

Any idea is well received. Thank you.
