Direct Access with Windows Server 2012 R2 DA and Windows 7 - null encrryption

Windows 2012 R2 Direct Access supports "null encryption" for Direct Access Sessions with Windows 8/8.1 over the iphttps Interface. So we can gain a Performance boost compared to the Windows 2008 Direct Access deployments with https.

What about Windows 7 Clients? Can these clients also benefit from the "null encryption" connectiog to a Windows 2012 R2 DA Server
