I have some client PCs where I am seeing the above event. The description is...
The name <“EXAMPLE :1d ”> could not be registered on the Interface with IP address <ip address 1>. The machine with the IP address <ip address 2> did not allow the name to be claimed by this machine.
Where EXAMPLE is the first part of our domain name...example.local
ip address 1 is the client PCs address
ip address 2 is the IP address of one of our DCs.
We are not using WINS here. Our client PCs and servers have the default "Use NetBIOS setting from DHCP server" selected. The DHCP server does not have any WINS or NetBIOS options set. Client PCs are using DHCP, servers are static IPs.
Anyone know how to fix this?
