DirectAccess DNS not responding

I've just set up DirectAccess on our test server, and have largely followed the test lab guide. However, I get the following error on the monitoring page: "None of the internal DNS servers *** that DirectAccess client computers use for name resolution is responding. This prevents DirectAccess clients from resolving names in the internal namespace and connecting to the internal network. Make sure the DNS servers are online and responding to name resolution requests."

I can't ping the DNS server's IPv6 address from the DA server, but I can ping its IPv4 address. I can ping the DA server from the DNS server, but the IP I get back is IPv4. How should I go about troubleshooting this? Thanks.
