We are using Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 Domain Controllers are DNS servers. We have recently observed that some of the Windows 2008 Server which are configured with static IP addresses. I have changed IP of some of the Servers but DNS host records are not getting updated, I have tried running ipconfig /registerdns, restarted the netlogon service, rebooted the server etc.
The DNS zone is AD integrated and is configured to accept Secure only updates.
For testing I have configured the server to accept Secure and non-secure updates and did ipconfig /registerdns on the server. This time the host record is updated with new IP.
I am not able to understand why is this problem happening.
Please suggest.
