Hello all, hopefully I'm in the right forum. I have a DC running 2008 R2 installed on an old HP proliant server with a failed RAID controller. This DC is one of three DCs I have running. In order to get the RAID controller working again I need to purchase the system board as the controller is embedded. I am also planning in decommissioning this server soon (6 months).
With that said, would you leave the server as is until it gets decommissioned and hope the drive doesn't fail or would you setup RAID at the OS level?
Quick background on the previous RAID setup: the server only has two drives and was set as a RAID 1.
