Initial DFSR replication, with some members that have different files

Hey guys,

Servers/Domain are 2008r2.  I have a folder named HR that I want to replicate to some other servers across slow WAN links.  The folder is a few TB in size and would take a very long time to replicate, but most of the other DFSR members that I want to add in, have the HR folder and most of the content already.  The problem is some of them might possibly have the HR folder with newer content that I would want deleted during the initial sync, and I want the end result of the DFSR replication to be setup so that all of the DFSR members are masters(default)

I thought I have read before that DFSR will only copy the deltas, even during initial sync, if some of the source files exist on the target.  Not sure if the newer or extra files on the targets gets deleted on initial sync.

Can this actually work? Can I setup the standard DFSR topology(multi-master) and use the content already on the targets to help make all of them exactly the same as the server that is initially the source? or should I delete the HR folder on all of the targets and just wait a few weeks for replication to go smooth?

Thanks,

Dan Heim
