I would like the network devices and non-Windows servers to use domain controllers as the NTP source in my network. To provide high availability for NTP source when these non-Windows servers and network devices access for time synchronization, I would like to know if I can create a DNS alias like time.<domain>.com and assign few DC's to this alias, so that even if one domain controller is down the other domain controllers can respond to NTP queries.
Is using DNS alias in this manner for time synchronization for other servers and network devices supported ? Would there be any issues ? I would be interested to know. Thanks in advance.
