Two ADSL lines - specify default gateway without affecting normal network activity

Our single ADSL connection is struggling with the web browsing, email and VPN traffic that we have in our office. Being an office of only 16 persons, we unfortuantely are not in the position that EFM or leased lines are viable and unfortunately, FTTC is not available in our area either.

A possible solution that we have come up with is as follows:

  • Install second ADSL line
  • Add default gateway of the second ADSL line to the PC workstations

We have a Windows 2008 active directory (SBS).

I am well aware that this sort of scenario is by no means an ideal scenario but we have to work with what we have or what is viable.

What I would envisage is that existing VPN and email traffic would continue to go down the original ADSL line and any HTTP traffic (browser, skype, etc) would go down the second ADSL line via means of changing the default gateway on the PC.

My questions are: Would this work? What complications could there be?
