Hi, everybody.
Does Windows 2012 R2 DHCP failover support virtual machine snapshot?
Say DHCP failover is configured on two Windows 2012 R2 servers for a series of scopes.
A member of the DHCP pair is going to have some updates applied or maybe some application installed. As they're both virtual machines, I can shut one down, take a snapshot and then proceed with updates or application installation.
If something goes wrong with the installation and I go back to the VM snapshot, will it gracefully sync with the remaining DHCP failover server which remaind online during the operation?
Is this a supported scenario?
Perhaps pausing the DHCP server service prior to installing the updates/app would be recommended?
Thanks for your comments.
