I built a member server in a lab environment and assigned a static IP address to one of the NICs. There are 3 other NICs but they're disabled. We image the server and then place it in an operational environment. When we do this, the existing NICs are disabled and Windows creates 4 new NICs. The new NICs are all set to DHCP.
I know how to rename the new NICs and place everything back to its original configuration but in the operational environment there won't be any local access to the server.
Is there a way to prevent Windows from reconfiguring the NICs when installed in the operational environment?
