Hi I am having very slow and often no logons from laptops using NPS.
I am getting the following errors and would like to get rid of them as one possible reason.
We have 3 domain controllers and NPS is installed on one of them. I have hundreds of errors going round like this:
4402 There is no domain controller available for domain ABC. (ABC is the NetBIOS domain name with NO dot.)
4400 A LDAP connection with domain controller AAA.ABC.local for domain ABC is established.
30 seconds later
4401 Domain controller AAA.ABC.local for domain ABC is not responsive. NPS switches to other DCs.
Then it goes on connecting to the next DC with the same results and continues switching between the 3 DCs.
Why does it use the NetBIOS domain name at all?
Can I configure the clients, or NPS to use only FQDN?
Do I need to install a WINS server?
Any suggestions what may be the cause of this and how to resolve it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thomas
