I'll try and provide enough info so you guys can (hopefully) find what I am overlooking.
Fresh install of Server 2008 R2.
Added Roles: Active Directory Domain Services, DHCP Server, DNS Server(DNS before DHCP)
My current test network is AT&T DSL router->Firewall->Test Server
The AT&T router is doing DHCP (192.168.x.x) for the firewall WAN interface(X0: 192.168.106), assigned static on LAN( X1: 10.0.0.1) Test Server has static IPs(10.0.02 & 10.0.0.3)
IPv6 is disabled on both server NICs
The server can can connect to, and surf, the internet.
IPv4 Local Area Connection:
IP: 10.0.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.1
Preferred DNS Server: 10.0.0.2
IPv4 Local Area Connection 2:
IP: 10.0.0.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.0.0.1
Preferred DNS Server: 10.0.0.2
DNS Manager:
Forwarders - both DNS servers given by our ISP. Resolves IP address to their FQDN
Only BPA error is Local Area Connection 1 & 2 should include Loopback and another warning for only using the preferred DNS server
DHCP Server is authorized and no errors in the console
DHCP Scope: 10.0.0.50 - 10.0.0.200
Router: 10.0.0.1
DNS Server: 10.0.0.2
DNS Domain Name: local.ourcompany.com
Client is connected to Local Area Connect 2 (10.0.0.3) via a 4-port switch.
Client receives DHCP lease(10.0.0..50), but cannot connect to internet
Cannot ping Local Area Connection(10.0.0.2).
Ping results:
"Destination host unreachable. Request timed out"
What am I missing? This is getting insanely frustrating because I know it is something simple
