Win 2003 r2 to 2012 r2 migration and old DNS zones and records

Hi Guys,

I have almost completed a migration to windows 2012 R2 from Windows 2003 R2. Have just demoted the old Windows 2003 r2 DC and things are running well. However, looking at DNS i can see a lot of records and old zones data which don't exist any more. I have SOA records that point to the old DC and records pointing to an old subnet.

This windows 2012 server will be the only DC in the domain.

Is it safe for me just to delete these records one by one or is there a better way to clean this up? I'm aware that i have to read the scavenging document, but from what I've read so far this won't remove all my old record.

Thanks in advance

David
