Current setup in DMZ
Server 2003 - Primary
Server 2008 - Secondary
I want to replace the 2003 server with a new box running 2012. Many services/applications have hard coded either the name or IP of 2003 server for DNS. Hence I would like the new box to have same name/IP
This is the first time I have needed to do an upgrade in this way with DNS so I was wondering if anyone had a high level of the steps they would do to migrate DNS to a new server while maintaining the same name and IP.
I would like to end with 2012 as primary and 2008 server still secondary so I will upgrade it at a later time.
