HTTPS Binding in Test Lab: Base Configuration

The problem I'm having has got me completely stumped.

Configure the HTTPS security binding

Next, configure the HTTPS security binding so that APP1 can host HTTPS-based URLs.

To configure the HTTPS security binding

    • Default Web site.
    • Actions pane, click Bindings.
    • Site Bindings dialog box, click Add.
    • Add Site Binding dialog box, in the Type list, clickhttps. In SSL Certificate, click the certificate with the nameapp1.corp.contoso.com. Click OK, and then click Close.

Now according to this, I should just see app1.corp.contoso.com in the SSL Certificate drop down box, yet there's nothing there for me to actually choose. I know I can create a self-signed certificate, but it never mentions this anywhere in the directions, so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong earlier in the configuration or what. And then later,

Next, verify that a computer certificate has been installed on CLIENT1.

To verify that CLIENT1 has a computer certificate installed

    1. Start, type mmc, and then press ENTER.
    2. File, and then click Add/Remove Snap-in.
    3. Certificates, click Add, select Computer account, clickNext, select Local computer, click Finish, and then clickOK.
    4. Certificates (Local Computer)\Personal\Certificates.
    5. Intended Purposes of Client Authentication and Server Authentication.
    6. No.

I don't have any Personal Certificates installed which makes me think even more I'm doing something wrong up ahead, but I'm at a loss as to what it could be. I feel like I followed the guide word-for-word, but yea. Any ideas? Need any more info?
