Recent Install of Windows 2012 R2 AD server on an existing domain (decommissioning old Win2003 Server) all looks to work fine, existing users replicated, files and shares replicated, DNS/DHCP across no issues, FMSO transferred OK, old server dcpromo'd out of the domain, all with one exception....
When viewing the Windows Network from the new 2012 server we can see the server listed twice (both identical names). One shows blank shares the other lists our current network shared files. Users can logon and off the domain with no issues and all network shares / shared printers work fine.
When viewing the network from a client PC the network list is normal only one server listed.
The new server also acts as DNS / DHCP server again all looks OK with one note, DNS shows the server twice, one shows the server name only and the other lists server name.domain.local, all DNS simply tests work OK no issues.
