Quick background I am still developing my knowledge of networking and trying to improve so excuse any mistakes in my terminology or understanding.
We have a small school who is running a Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 PC environment with Active Directory. We have a Windows Server 2012 license I am thinking about replacing our 2008 edition with but first I want ot understand some thing.
What are the benefits of letting my Sonicwall TZ 215 serve DHCP requests for my network instead of my Windows Server 2008 R2?
Or is the best practice to let the Server do it? I have a couple of schools who run DHCP from their Sonicwalls and it seems to run much better but i'm not sure why.
