DNS architecture - best practice (internal & public DNS records)

Hello,
could you please tell me, what is the best practice for DNS architecture? I need to recreate DNS infrastructure in the company, which has headquarters and 10 branch offices connected through VPN. The main problem is, that I need to have different DNS records on the public DNS servers and in the internal network, mainly due to camera system and few other services. Managers have camera system app on their mobile devices and if there wouldn't be different internal DNS records, they would go to the camera system from the local network like: LAN -> public IP -> firewall -> camera system on the HQ LAN instead direct access to the system on the LAN. Now, the architecture isn't ideal. There is one main DNS server in the headquarters, where are manually added different DNS records for local services like the camera systems. How to solve this? What is the best practice? (Sorry for my english, I hope, that my description is at least a little bit clear.)
