Hi all experts,
I facing major issue regarding windows server 2003, sql server 2000 and windows 10. Let me explain scenario:
- On windows 10
1)I have one application running on windows 10. I want to connect it to sql server 2000 on windows server machine
2)I am trying to establish connection through ODBC, I'm getting error Error 8001, SQL server does not exists or rejected the connection
3) I have also added sql server ports on firewall, but not working
Now About windows server 2003
- Windows server 2003
1)So, I tried to open server firewall to add port to the exception. But it is giving error"Windows Firewall cannot start because another program or service is running that might use the network address translation component (Ipnat.sys)"
2) Now, how can I add sql server port exception to the firewall, without hampering server setting regarding RRAS
3) I also know the RRAS is installed on the server. But I do not want to disable it. Because I don't know why it is installed on server and how it works on server.
4) I want to add exception in firewall which should work even after rebooting the server.
PLEASE HELP ME!! I WILL APPRECIATE YOUR SOLUTION!!
