good day
We have a 2008 R2 DHCP server issuing leases on a scope however looking at DNS there are duplicate A records for a given IP.
It was my understanding that the DHCP server should own the record and remve the record once the lease expires.
some things i know:
1. the lease has definitely expired for the duplicate record
2. the correct record is also registered for the current lease for that IP
3.the DHCP server is set to use name protection, has a service account configured, and is in the DHCPproxy group
4. The DNS settings are greyed out on the scope as name protection is configured
However when I look at both of the records for this one IP the owner of each record is set to the workstation$ account
As far as I can see everything looks setup for DHCP to be doing this and being the owner of the record?
Any advice would be helpful
