Hey,
We've recently upgraded our Domain Controllers from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2. By upgrade I mean a clean install on new hardware then decommission the old. Not an in-place upgrade.
Since we've had 2008 R2 for many years, I cannot remember what's what with the Computer Browser service in a domain. We have 4 DCs across 2 sites (2 in each site). All DCs are also DNS and DHCP servers.
I'm asking this, as since the upgrade, one of our DCs is logging this (ID 8021):
"The browser service was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the browser master \\COMPUTERNAME on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{D6955351-CD7D-4F94-BA82-9202D25E2ADD}."
Here, COMPUTERNAME represents the other DC in the same site. None of the DCs in this site have any FSMO roles.
Is it still the case that the Computer Browser service should be disabled on all member machines (servers and clients) but enabled on DCs, as that what I'm thinking it was?
Thanks
