Hi Guys,
I have a Windows 2008 R2 server behind a NAT with a Draytek 2380 router (with DHCP). I have two NICs. The router supplies IPs in the 192.168.1.?? range with the usual subnet mask. 10 for NIC 1, 11 for NIC 2 and 12 for ilo (drac).
I've spent about 6hrs trying to set up a simple PPTP VPN.
I've tried all sorts and I just can't get it working.
These are the steps I've taken to try set it up:
Custom Configuration > VPN access.
RRAS is used as a router for LAN and dial up.
It uses Windows Auth with EAP and MSCHAP 2.
The two users and group has been set up.
IPv4 forwarding is enabled and it supplies a static address pool (192.168.1.13-14).
It uses only one NIC.
All ports are disabled apart from PPTP.
I've disabled the two default NPS policies and added my own, where my group is enabled and granted permission.
I've forwarded port 1723 to the address of the specified listening NIC on the router.
On Windows 10, I try to set up the VPN, using PPTP, the credentials of a user from within the VPN group. I consitently get this message:
"the remote connection was denied because the username and password combination you provided is not recognised, or the selected authentication protocol is not permitted on the RAS".
Plllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease has anyone got any ideas as to what is going on?
Thanks, Antony
