Note: I have a LAB Environment using VMWARE Workstation
SRV1 - AD, DHCP
SRV5 - RAS Server
SRV6 - Certificate Services
WKS1 - Windows 8.1 Enterprise
I am trying to simulate a VPN Connection using IKEv2 protocol.
I have created a domain certificate for my RAS Server named "srv5.limdynasty.com".
I have selected this certificate on the RAS Server and restarted the RAS related services.
When I configured the VPN connection from WKS I put in the srv5.limdynasty.com as the name and the address of the remote server, then i put in my domain credentials in the profile so that I wont have to enter it every time.
But when I connect, it does back to the PPTP connection, and I can confirm it too from the ports used in the RAS MMC in the RAS Server.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
