I have a 2008R2 domain that was set for secure-only dynamic DNS updates several years ago. We turned it to "secure and non-secure" when we had an acquisition several years ago, but now we want to change it back to"secure only". The concern is the non-windows clients that might have registered their host names. We have some ILO(HP lights out) that are on DHCP scopes that are using a service account to "dynamically update DNS records for DHCP clients that
do not request updates". I see those current ILO host records do have a timestamp on them. What is going to happen to them when I change DNS back to "secure-only". I am assuming they will just disappear when the timestamp expires
and DHCP will not be able to update records for non-windows clients?
