Hi,
I got event error 1616 in the Setup log in Event Viewer when trying to install WINS on Windows 2008 Std Server SP1. I've tried searching the internet for related problems, but none of mentioned about WINS. All have them are related to WSUS or IIS or other roles. I've uninstalled non-mandatory features (such as Windows Process Activation Service), but WINS still won't install properly. I can add any other roles or features successfully. It's just that I cannot install WINS. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem? Thank you for any assistance!
