DHCP related issues :
We have server 2008 DHCP Servers and use it for managing DHCP leases in our infrastructure.
All our clients are Windows 7 Sp1 x64 with IE11 -- Fully patched
We have DHCP scope option set for Proxy for clients
Scope Option 252 -WPAD http://ourproxyIP/accelerated_pac_base.pac
Here is some of the issues that i face, possibly someone can advice on what i need to look.
All clients have Automatically detect settings for IE , so my assumption is they get the proxy from the DHCP scope
However sometime we get calls from support stating cleints do not get correct proxy . but when i check the DCHP , it does have a lease from our server and i expect it to get the proxy form the scope option. But it doest.
We have tried deleting lease , rebooting systems
Q: How can i verify why it dint get the proxy from our DHCP server
Q.Are there any logs on client / server side which can help me troubleshoot
Q.Some machines do not even show in the DHCP lease , even though when i check the local IP it shows DHCP enabled.
Q.how can i verify which proxy is my client using
