Are there any step by step instructions or checklists on how to merge two AD's into one. We have a mixed bag of differences the parent is on Win7 desktops, the purchased organization is running Win 10 desktops. The purchased company has STIG compliance requirements, the existing company has CIS compliance requirements. The purchased company has a print server, the parent does not. etc. etc. etc. We'll have a lot of GPO testing, trust building, determining the dependencies of their user, server, apps in their current environment and how they will react in ours. The kicker is the merger occurred 4 months ago and the networks are expected to be joined in about 60 more days. I was just hired on at the parent company and the plan here is just trial and error. I've never done this type of merger before but I can't wait around seeing what spaghetti will stick to the way and what needs to be cooked longer. I think I can by some time if I can get the users and workstations moved to our AD. That being said, I'm looking for direction on getting at least that much complete sooner than later. If you have documentation to do it all, I'd appreciate it.
