Test Lab Guide: Windows Server 2012 Base Configuration - CLIENT1 has No Internet Access

I'm building out some labs using the Test Lab Guides on Hyper-V & I've followed all step by step procedures in the following guides;

Test Lab Guide: Windows Server 2012 Base Configuration

Hosting the Windows Server 2012 Base Configuration Test Lab with Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V

Testing of the completed lab works fully except that the following step fails (partially) for me;

Test access to Internet resources from the Internet subnet

To test access to Internet resources from CLIENT1 when connected to the Internet subnet

Move CLIENT1 from Corpnet subnet to the Internet subnet. From the Desktop, note that after network detection is complete, the warning symbol on the network icon in the system notification area no longer appears. Hover over the network icon in the system notification area and notice that it indicates Internet access. When prompted, clickYes, turn on sharing and connect to devices.

Here's what's happening when I attempt the above step; CLIENT1's NIC picks up the first IP in the DHCP scope from INET1's DHCP pool (as it should) but the warning symbol on the network icon in the system notification area never goes away and if I hover over it it never indicates 'Internet access'. It always shows 'No Internet access'.

Opening the http://inet1.isp.example.com/ opens the IIS default start page (as it should).

Also, opening www.msftncsi.com/ncsi.txt from CLIENT1 succeeds.

INET1's static IP of 131.107.0.1 is pingable from CLIENT1. An nslookup of the INET1 host succeeds.  If I move CLIENT1 from the Internet subnet to the Corpnet subnet it picks up the notification symbol & indicates corp.contoso.com fine.

This same issue occurs on any other VM that I move to the Internet subnet. I've recreated the Internet subnet, reinstalled & reconfigured DHCP, DNS, IIS & NCIS on the INET1 VM; still the same behaviour. I need it running correctly in order to build on it & test DirectAccess later.

Has anybody else come across this with the Test Lab Guide Base Configuration (be-it the 2008 or 2012 version), know what the issue could be or see any missing steps in the guide at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29010 ? Any help appreciated.
