I'm having a problem with using WPAD with Direct Access.
I have an explicit entry for WPAD in the NRPT table and I am resolving it internally on the Direct Access server.
When I have the "Automatically Detect Settings" selected, IE does not pick up the WPAD file.
If I use "Use Automatic Configuration Script" and manually specify the WPAD location, it works without any problems.
I think that this might be related to the fact that I have WPAD specified as an ALIAS, pointing to a Web server hosting the WPAD file, in our DNS instead of a Host (A) record. Can this be the case?
