ping transmit failed general failure

Hi,

I have a Hyper-V VM. On this Hyper-V server, all VMs have no network issues. On a newly provisioned virutal server, I get "ping transmit failed general failure". I looked at ipconfig but it lists autoconfiguration enabled. I applied the registry modification to disable this, and there is no APIPA address showing anymore (there was pre-registry modification).

However, I still get the same error. I've tried winsock reset and flushdns/registerdns etc, but nothing seems to work. I've changed the IP numerous times to ensure there is no IP Conflict.

What gives?

I am assigning static IPs and the server is windows server 2012.

Thanks
