This Guide in hopes of configuring approx 140 Vlans using 5 physical NICs. We understand that win server 2012 R2 should be able to support up to 150 VLans, but by the time we have about 65 Vlans configured, the server is unresponsive. This is a Dell
PowerEdge 610 with 2 2.66 GHZ processors with 6 cores each and 96 gig memory.
We have created 5 Nic teams from 5 physical NICS , and assigned each team about 15 VLans, and the server can not handle it. Our original switch configuration allowed all 140 VLans to broadcast on all 5 ports. We're wondering if the server is seeing this as many more than 150 VLans.
Should we set just the specific Vlans in each switch port so they match what we've designated for each team NIC? We're not quite sure what else to try.
