Hi,
we are in the upgrade process from Server 2008R2 > 2019.
Because the Hostnames of the Server changes we have to change that in Scripts/Backupsoftware/and many Applications as well in Group Policy.
To do that work only once i tought it will maybe a good idea to use in the future only CNAmes and not the hostnames.
So if the Hostname changes i have to change that only in the DNS and not in all my Scripts/Backupsoftware/Applications/Group Policy etc.
So what are you're comments? Are they any disadvantages
