Hi. I am having difficulty connecting to domain computers (laptops) which are currently located offsite and are connected via RRAS with an L2TP VPN connection. Ideally I would like to offer remote assistance so that I can help them with support
issues, but currently I can't even ping the client. Looking at the routing table on the RRAS server when the client is connected I see an entry such as(Destination) 192.168.0.41 (Netmask) 255.255.255.255 (Gateway) 192.168.0.41 (Interface) 192.168.0.42, where 192.168.0.41 is the VPN client address and 192.168.0.42 is the RRAS adapter interface. Does this look correct? In my mind
the gateway should be the RRAS adapter address, but I am no expert in this area. I can ping non RRAS clients from the server so I don't think that the firewall can be the problem. The RRAS server has just a single network adapter and is issuing
addresses from the DHCP server pool, not from a static pool. What do I need to change on our 2008 R2 server in order to allow my communication with those remote clients? Many thanks in advance.
