Weird Internal DNS Issue

Hey all, weird issue that I can not seem to figure out that I am hoping to get some help on here from.

We have a domain...EXAMPLE.NET

2 DCs hooked up in a failover state. Both running, DHCP, DNS (one running WINS i think)...but here's the problem...

For our company website which is EXAMPLE.COM it absolutely won't resolve unless i add it to the dns forwarder. The DNS has both DCs being used as lookup and then 8.8.8.8.

If I were to go to a website that was not in the cache, i'm confident i could get there because it would use google dns to find it. However, if i were to delete the forwarder addresses for my company website, it won't work and the page will timeout. Also, if i make changes to it, i always have to "delete cache" for it to show the updates, it never goes out and checks for a new version...TTL is 5 min but doesn't seem to work.

I also enabled scavenging to try and delete stale records but that doesn't seem to be working.

I don't know if it's just a coincidence that our domain and website name as the same or if there's something else going on. We seem to have very slow loading times on our website also (not an internet issue) and the site loads up quick outside of the workplace, so i know it has something to do with our internal DNS and the caching.

Any help or tips on good practice would be much appreciated.

Thank you
