I'm having a strange issue.
This morning, one my two locations is unable to access shares/services of one of our DC's for this email I'll call it "testDC1".
"testlocation2DC5" is unable to ping the UNC of "testDC1" however it can ping DC1's IP address. The secondary DC at the second location "testlocation2DC6" can't ping the UNC of "testDC1" however like the other DC in this location it can ping the IP address of DC1.
Ironically, "testDC1" can ping the UNC and IP address of both DC5 and DC6 from the other geographical location.
It's quite weird, it just suddenly stopping working, the biggest issue is DC1 is the print server for the location of DC5/DC6 so somewhere, someplace the UNC translation has failed.
The network is functioning correctly between each location, however the aliases of the DC's isn't working in one location, but it is in another. Data and traffic is being passed between other servers in both networks, so it's just very strange. All of these DC's are required for each site to work, however they just seem to be funky.
Has anyone every had this issue before?
