HI All,

I'm newly setting up my active directory. My requirement is server will be placed at “A Location”, “B Location” user should be able to access the server using VPN. Also B Location Users should authenticate with the server and get the group policy and other stuff.

My server Setup:

It has 2 NIC cards, one is connected to directly internet cable with static ip configured. First NIC conf: IP Address: 123.201.xx.xxx (Directly assigned to NIC card no router nothing) Netmask: 255.255.255.252 Gateway: 123.201.xx.xxx DNS: 8.8.8.8 DNS: 8.8.4.4

Second NIC card: it is connected to unmanageable switch to access the internet and DC policies to clients connected this network also configured DHCP to assign the IP address in 192.168.1.15 - 250.

IP: 192.168.1.10 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: nil DNS: nil

Active Directory Name: axxxis.local

My questions:

  1. Is my second nic card configuration is ok or not? because DHCP server assigning the IP addresses to clients but internet not sharing.
  2. I want to setup VPN to access the DC from the “B Location”
  3. Why in local network users not able to access internet any routing to be added for this
  4. Is my DHCP configured properly configuration below:
    1. 003 Router 192.168.1.1
    2. DNS server 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
    3. DNS Name: axxxis.local

Thanks & Regards,

Anand.Poduri
