We have a w2k8r2 Forest. All the DC's are DNS and GC servers. We have a root and 2 childdomains.
We have Sites Amsterdam, NewYork, London and Brussel
In Rootdomain example.com, we have 3 DC's, 2 with subnet 10.128.0.0 16(Amsterdam site) and one with 10.64.0.0/16(Brussel site)
In childdomain, ASD.example.com, i have 5 DC's. 3 DC's, in amsterdam site, with subnet 10.128.0.0/16
The other 2 DC's in ASD.example.com have subnet 10.32.0.0/16(NewYork site) and 10.192.0.0/16 (London site)
My first question:
If i ping ASD.example.com from a windows 7 client with subnet 10.128.0.0/16, should i get a reply from a DC in the site Amsterdam or a reply from a DC in the ASDchilddomain?
Ik get a reply from the DC in Newyork site, that reside in the ASD domain, but has a diffrent subnet then the windows 7 client.
I thought that i should get a reply from a DC from the site Amsterdam, because the client is in the same subnet.
