I want tocreate a virtual network, butI haveonerunningwith these characteristics a real one, is a subnet of another more bigger : windowspcserver 2003r2acts asdomain controller andDNSserver: My domain controller is server.turempleo.scu.tur.cu and DNS server is in the same PC, my domain name is turempleo.scu.tur.cu.   ip : 10.184.12.16

Subnet mask:  255.255.255.0

Default Gateway : 10.184.12.1

PreferredDNS server:  127.0.0.1

And the others pc as Workstation with Windows XP sp3 and their properties are similar to this pc:

ip : 10.184.12.2 to 25

Subnet mask :  255.255.255.0

Default Gateway : 10.184.12.1

Preferred DNS server:  10.184.12.16

Well I got a virtual machine  with window server 2003 r2 as a domain controller and DNS server running on a host  10.184.12.5 on turempleo.scu.tur.cu. My question is about how I can configure my network with virtual workstations with windows XP sp3 running on host on turempleo.scu.tur.cu.

I did it like this but doesn’t works :

I created my network with this rank of ip 192.184.12.2 to 5

Server:

Ip: 192.184.12.2

Subnet mask :  255.255.255.0

Default Gateway : 10.184.12.1 is not in the same subnet, this will be my mistake. I guess.

Preferred DNS server:  10.184.12.2-> my primary dns server

And the others PC:

Ip: 192.184.12.3 to 5

Subnet mask :  255.255.255.0

Default Gateway : 10.184.12.1 is not in the same subnet, this will be my mistake. I guess.

Preferred DNS server:  10.184.12.2-> my primary dns server

When I’m pinging a workstation whatever example: ping 192.184.12.3 request time out

I want to know what happen I want to set only for testing.
