Hi,
I'm trying to figure out dns reverse lookup for two subnets (for example 11.22.33.0/25 and 11.22.33.128/25) hosted on separated dns severs.
I've read "How to configure a subnetted reverse lookup zone" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174419. As I understand it, this makes it possible to have single parent dns server that resolves all reverse lookups for subnets that are managed by 'child' dns servers that maintain the PTR records for 'their' hosts.
Does this enable clients using the 'child' dns servers to resolve all reverse lookups for all records maintained in the 'parent'?
If not, is there a way to configure this? Can the child dns server use a forwarder for a subnet it does not manage (like for 128/25.33.22.11.in-addr.arpa)?
