Ipv6 and DHCPv6 - Windows 2008 R2 - Server has two ipv6 addresses

Hello All,

I've been starting to play around with ipv6 in my lab and I've found something I can't find an explination for.

I'm using Windows 2008 R2.

DC1 is my domain controller, DNS and DHCP server.

I've assigned both a static Ipv4 address and a static ipv6 address. the ipv6 static address I've assiged to my server is fd7d:bf96:f5f8:f2e4::1:1 /64.

Then I installed DHCPv6 on this server (I'm not using anything DHCP related for ipv4).

After I got that configured I'm now seeing what I can't explain. The server now has TWO ipv6 addresses.

My question is why do I have two ipv6 addresses??

One is static and one comes from the ipv6 pool specified in DHCP.

I only have one network adapter installed on this machine.

Here is the output of the ipconfig.
