I'm trying to configure the server as a router I have the following topology
seven machine1 server1(2008 r2) server2(2003) seven machine2
NIC NIC NIC NIC
10.0.0.2 10.0.0.1 30.0.0.1 30.0.0.2
- 20.0.0.1 20.0.0.2 -
255.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 255.0.0.0
the 30.0.0.2 pings 20.0.0.1 & 10.0.0.1 without problems the problem happens when I try to ping the 10.0.0.2 the question is when 30.0.0.2 pings the internal network in the opposit side the 10.0.0.1 then it recognize it then why it respond by request time out when I try to ping 10.0.0.2
same thing when I ping from 10.0.0.2 to 30.0.0.2
I tried the static route and the rip protocol but it seems that it doesn't work is it a firewall issue or somthing else?
