We have just installed Windows 2008 R2 on a new server to be placed into our Windows 2008 domain. In doing so, we noticed that after installing all the Windows 2008 R2 updates that we lost both the ability to join the domain and to also establish
Remote Desktop. The Workgroup/Domain option for "DOMAIN" is greyed out and there is no option to establish Remote Desktop. However, when we login as local administrator, we can ping all resources in the domain. But, because
these options are not available (only Domain is greyed out...Remote Desktop doesn't even show up in the Remote options) we can not connect to create the computer not establish it in DNS. Has anyone seen this before?
