Hi,
I wanted a solution to block the https google search images, as https image search (adult images) are not getting blocked by the content filter tool.
So for that I looked for a solution to direct the https search to http.
Solution – On Windows 2008 R2, after creating a Forward lookup zone with the www.google.com, I tried to create CNAME (as root/same as parent) but it’s not allowing me to do so and showing the error (record not compatible).
I also tried creating a CNAME under my domain DNS (testlab.com) but still it’s not allowing me to create CNAME as root or same as parent.
Is this a BUG in Windows Server 2008 R2? As same I am able to do on Windows Server 2003 DNS.
I want to avoid doing it using “A” host record pointing to static IP, as the IP can change of the URL I require a CNAME created. Using CNAME pointing to URL will not require an IP address and this will suffice my requirement.
Please suggest…
Regards,
