I have been playing around with ddns and dhcp to see the affects dns record permissions. I have secure updates enabled and always register prt and a records set. I have 2 DCs with DNS with one having dhcp. When I change the primary dns on the scope options to be the server with dhcp the dns records show the owner as the "dns update" user. However, when I change the dns server to the other dns server the dns record owner is the computer.
To me this is not expected behavior is I would expect the "dns update" user to be the owner not matter what. Is the assumption correct or is what I am seeing expected behavior?
Looking at the dhcp logs it shows dns updated successfully.
